Secrets to eyeshadow that lasts with no creasing

Before I found eyeshadow primer, I would spend lots of time creating great eye looks, but I would find that the shadow wore off in a matter of hours. Even worse was when I would be left with creases when I blinked.

My favorite eyeshadow primer is called Urban Decay Primer Potion. It comes in a cool genie looking bottle and for less than $20 should last a good 4-6 months. What I like to do is get a small amount on the applicator wand, next dot that on the eye area, then spread it around with your finger to create a thin invisable layer. If you are planning to wear eyeliner, make sure to fully cover the lid area all the way down to the lash base. Then let dry for about 30 seconds.

Next, when applying eyeshadow, try to do it in sections. Applying each color only in the areas you want that color, rather than doing a wash, this will also make it last longer because when applying on top of a wash, there is nothing for the top layer of eyeshadow to "stick to" and it tends to fall of quickly. Make sure to leave a little bit of space between layers for blending. After the main areas have been applied, you should now use the area between colors to apply a little bit (have a light hand here on each color) to blend. My favorite blending brush is from Laura Mercier, it is called the eye crease brush. Use upward strokes when blending the crease color.

We are done! Now your eye makeup will last all night long!
