Confusing. That's one way to describe Julie Garwood's publication list. She's been issued, re-issued, re-re-issued, combined and issued, combined again and re-issued. Then add to that the many languages she's published in. WHEW!! I'm not dealing with all that...I'm giving you the basics. For instance...The Roses, I'm not doing all those dinky little books, I'm giving you the one book in which you can get all three Roses. If you want the three dinky little books, go to your nearest used bookstore and I'm sure they can accomodate you or look here on eBay...someone might have them sitting in a store somewhere.
Anyhow, lets get started. Since Ms. Garwood, technically, does not have any series, I'm listing her romances by time era then after the time era, I will give the books that have connecting characters (does that make sense?). The connecting characters aren't major characters so you don't have to read them in order for the story to make sense...it's more like they make an appearance or play a very minimal part in the storyline.
I'm also listing her new contemporary suspenses/mystery thrillers. :( I wish she would come back to historical romance...but you can't blame an author for going where the market is broader. Lets get started...
Medieval Era Romances
Gentle Warrior
Honor's Splendour
The Bride
The Prize
The Secret
Saving Grace
The Wedding
Ransom
Of these books, The Secret and Ransom have connecting characters and then The Bride and The Wedding also have connecting characters.
Also, many of these books either are set in Scotland or have Scottish heros, which just pleases me to pieces. ;)
Regency Era Romances
Rebellious Desire
The Lion's Lady
Guardian Angel
The Gift
Castles
Prince Charming
Of these books, The Lion's Lady, Guardian Angel, The Gift, and Castles have connecting characters.
Western Romances
For The Roses
The Clayborne Brides
Come The Spring
All three of these books have connecting characters and I, personally, would classify this as a trilogy (and a lot of other people do also), but Ms. Garwood apparently doesn't.
Contemporary Suspense/Mystery Thriller
Slow Burn
Murder List
Killjoy
Mercy
Hearbreaker
The last three: Killjoy, Mercy, and Heartbreaker, have connecting characters.
Young Reader Book
A Girl Named Summer
Good Luck! I hope this list helps you in your endeavor of finding your favorite Julie Garwood in your favorite time era...or to see if you're missing one somewhere.
Happy Reading!
