Deceptive Knife Seller on Ebay -DANHOVIS*KNIVESPLUS50
Just letting everyone know about deceptive sellers on Ebay, knives in particular. Lets start out, I dont like to, and never had, prior to my experience with this seller leaving NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. But I feel you must know what this seller did, and maybe some others you encounter might do. 1) Don't ever buy a knife with a blurry photo. Its blurry for a reason. The cameras are too good these days for you not to be able to take a clear picture of the item for sale, even if you have to take it several times you'll eventually get a good one, and thats the one you will post. Most people. The deceptive sellers take blurry photos to hide problems and defining features of the knife that make it possible to desern the model, make, and it also will make it hard for you to see and to tell what blemishes and scatches, cracks are present. My advice; DONT BID on any knife that doesnt have a clear photo of an acceptible angle to view the knife. 2) Vague description. If a person who knows knives leaves a description, its usally very detailed. He wants the buyer to know what hes getting. The seller will list the chips, cracks, and the age if he can tell, handle materials etc. If the description says " 1000 Knife Estate I buy knife I found look good", Dont go there. This guy knows what he has, junk, and hes trying to trick you into thinking he's just an honest estate buyer who got "stuck" with some knives. If you think youre looking at a Damascus Blade, or a bone handle, youll be sorely disgusted when you recieve a piece of garbage "Made in China", fake etched Damascus Blade, with a plasitic handle. 3) If a seller is honest, they will let you return a knife he got the date wrong on, or didnt notice a crack at a pin on the handle, etc. These sellers list their items with a return policy. 4) If it doesnt have a return policy you are bidding at your own risk! If you do have a problem and need to communicate with the seller, let him know what the problem is and talk about it before you just send it back., In the past, I have offered to pay the shipping back if it was truly an honest mistake. Ill work with the guy. Now to my run in with a bonified deceptive knife seller. He did all the things I listed above. Blurry photo, vague description, no return policy, and since I bought several items at his "Estate Sale" on the same day he was nice enough to charged me $6.00 shipping for each item, a total of $18.00 for 3 knives that cost about $25.00. What a guy. I finally recieved the knives, and Lo an Behold a China made etched Damascus, and the 2 other knives he listed with "Abolone" handles, were plastic handled. He later said the spelling of "ABOLONE" and not ABALONE, must have surely tipped me off they were PLASTIC handles. Since I dont think he spelled a single thing correctly in any of his listings, I guess I was supposed to pick up on that well known fact. Well I eventually contacted him, and it went something like this; Im not Wal-Mart, and you thought you were going to steal a knife with your low bid, and the Abolone story yadda yadda. So I went to the arbitration site on EBAY, we traded a couple of emails, and and he still refused to do take any of the items back. This guy is EBAY's worst nightmare for selling. Since I'm honest, I didn't put in a negative feedback on him when I recieved the items, I just gave him a low key positive with the hopes we would resolve our difference. That was a BIG MISTAKE, he left negative feedback on me just for complaining to him in emails. I had paid him for all the knives immediately after the auctions were over! He has communicated with me several times now threatining to post more negative feedbacks on me, for no other reason other that I complained to him, and I'm trying to get my hard earned money back from the most deceptive seller I have ever encountered on EBAY. I hope this guide will help someone to stay away from deceptive sellers of knives and collectibles on EBAY . Thanks and GOD BLESS! *************************Im adding this today; 3-22-07... DANHOVIS tried to extort $100 from me to leave positve feedback for my 3 transactions.. I didnt pay, and he left 3 negatives. He is Ebay's worst nightmare. DANHOVIS IS A FEEDBACK EXTORTIONIST!!!! You buy from him and if he wants he will contact you and say I know a guy who pays $100 for good feedback, how much will yours be worth? And if you dont pay he will leave you a negative. What a stain to the earth. Hope this helps, God Bless. Im updating the guide today 9-27-07, DANHOVIS now has 35 negatives, and has been duping unsuspecting buyers and sellers the way as Ive outline in this review. Please tell your friends to read this before purchasing a knife. DANHOVIS also sells knives as user KNIFESLUS50. ******Update on 12-27-07**** "DANHOVIS" (Total of 46 negatives this year alone!!) has now been taken off of Ebay....BUT he is still out there as "KNIVESPLUS50"!!! Beware of this piece of dirt, he's still a theif and a liar, check out the feedback on that user name. To all the honest buyers and sellers...God Bless
